What is Demagnetization?
Demagnetization is the process of removing or reducing magnetic effects on a material.
Application Areas and Importance
In production processes, such as machining, welding, spot welding, pressing, handling operations, or machine equipment, it is necessary to eliminate the residual magnetization on the surfaces of products. This is because excessive magnetization on the surface can negatively affect product quality in subsequent production stages. For example, this can cause metal dust to be attracted to the surface, leading to poor coating quality. Additionally, during welding processes, excessive magnetization can prevent proper welding.
Required Values for Demagnetization
When the magnetization value on the material surface exceeds 5 Gauss, the material needs to be demagnetized.
Plate Type Demagnetizing Device
The plate type, one of the demagnetizing devices, performs manual demagnetization by moving products across the plate surface. This system reduces the magnetic field on metal products to a range of 0-5 Gauss. Products can be designed in special dimensions according to company and sample needs.
