What is Demagnetization?
Demagnetization is the process of removing or reducing magnetic effects on a material.
Application Areas and Importance
In production processes, such as machining, welding, spot welding, pressing, handling operations, or machine equipment, it is necessary to eliminate the residual magnetization on the surfaces of products. This is because excessive magnetization on the surface can negatively affect product quality in subsequent production stages. For example, this can cause metal dust to be attracted to the surface, leading to poor coating quality. Additionally, during welding processes, excessive magnetization can prevent proper welding.
Required Values for Demagnetization
When the magnetization value on the material surface exceeds 5 Gauss, the material needs to be demagnetized.
Handheld Demagnetizing Device
The portable handheld demagnetizing device reduces excess magnetization on material surfaces to 0-5 Gauss level. This device, effective on materials up to 20 mm thickness, can be easily used in different areas thanks to its portability. It operates with 220V AC power from the city grid and can be manufactured in special measurements and sizes according to needs. The demagnetization process is performed by slowly moving the material over the device.
Working Principle of the Device
The Portable Handheld Demagnetizer operates with city grid power. When the device's switch is turned on, it becomes active. Materials requiring demagnetization are placed on the device surface and slowly slid. Products are demagnetized by moving them back and forth over the device. This process can be repeated as needed.
How It Works
The device is protected by a heat sensor but should not be left on continuously. It is recommended to turn it off after use. When the device overheats, it cuts off the circuit and stops working. It can be restarted once cooled. The device should not be used on steels that are thicker than 20 mm, heat-treated, or have formed surfaces. Residual magnetization may remain on the surface of such materials. To minimize this, you can repeat the process by turning the material over and slowing down the processing speed.
Features
The device is portable and practical, operates with 220V 50Hz 350 VA power, includes heat sensor protection, is suitable for products up to 20 mm thickness, has a stainless surface, comes with a 2-year warranty, and is domestically produced.
